So it was a real article, but after criticism UN deleted it and claimed it was a poor attempt at satire.

However the writer of the article said it wasn't satire, but was rather meant to be provocative by showing how many corporations benefit from world hunger.

That’s the first place my mind went to. Not that the UN wanted starvation for some reason but instead how it benefits bad actors and corporations.

I'm not pro UN, but it seems they have argued that this was posted as satire.

Here is the archive, the text seems to point that keeping workers at the bare minimum of survival is what keeps them in check and allows for cheap labour.
