They are also horrible for the environment because they are made of plastic and designed to be disposed of after theyโ€™re empty.

I've always viewed that style of lighter as one that you might use in an emergency, but that's about it. Anyone using a lighter on a regular basis would benefit from getting one that can be refilled. But for an emergency, a refillable lighter might be too expensive or problematic.

My 2 cents, anyway. I don't use lighters like those.

I bought one of their long style bbq lighters and was so angry when it didn't have a refill port. The thing cost over 10 โ‚ฌ, how does it not have a refill port?

True, usually BIC Products have this french pseudo ecological certificate printed on them (NF100) Like on the Bic Cristal which is supposedly refillable, but they don't sell any refills anywhere.

(Still one of the best ballpoint pens around)
