Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

You get that fish feel pain right? Would this still be considered funny if that was a domestic cat in excruciating pain and terrified?

[–] Rooty@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Why are you upset at nature being brutal? Should we put the osprey on trial for crimes against fishdom?

[–] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 2 points 11 months ago

What's the point. The osprey are so well connected it's never even gonna go to trial - mark my words.

[–] Thorned_Rose@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

It's not nature being "brutal" that's the issue (I wouldn't even call it brutal because nature is what it is regardless of how we feel about it) - the issue is humans mocking or taking delight in an animal's pain.

What are the chances of 7 birds doing this thing in a row!

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 19 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] Deepus@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 4 points 1 year ago

Air traffic control needs to get its shit together, there could have been a hell of a mid-air collision.

[–] gressen@lemm.ee 28 points 1 year ago

This is AT LEAST moderately interesting!

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Whatever it's looking at is FUCKED.

You gotta use 'Deep escape' against an osprey.

Odell Lake

"Ignore" la la laaaa I'm fineeee

"Eat" would be a story passed down for generations if successful.. Any RNG on this game? 😉

[–] CidVicious@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago

From what I've seen they miss a good percentage of the time. But they can also bring up pretty big fish.

[–] Wahots@pawb.social 17 points 1 year ago

Huh, that final pose does kinda look like the Osprey aircraft. I always thought they named it after the bird because it sounded cool.

[–] Lux@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Crazy that these things can also take off and land vertically

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

And can kill 16 marines in the blink of an eye.

[–] zephorah@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago

More than mildly interesting.

I’m guessing there are probably private security company logos and hunting gear logos based on that final pose.

[–] starkzarn 12 points 11 months ago

I thought this was gonna be some animorphs shenanigans from the thumbnail

Seven ospreys diving in tight formation

I wonder why they all follow each other into the water!?

Those talons in the final shot look so much like Predator's mouth.

Love that last frame. Bird is like GIMME.

there's a video view from under the water where a bid of prey swoops in to grab a fish. it's neato too.

[–] CidVicious@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago

Actually saw one diving the other day while biking by the river. Beautiful birds.

Queen of the Harpies, queen of the harpies!

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 year ago

Here's your crown your majesty!

Actually for a second I was thinking Princess Bride, but that's yelling about the Queen of Refuse, Slime, etc.

Now I want to see a montage of people from various media angrily shouting "Queen of X"

Kinda looks like Hobbes when tackling Calvin.
