Yes and I'll give you an example:
The Japanese dub for King of the Hill had Boomhauer speaking perfect Japanese. The ability to understand Boomhauer all the time undermines most of the gags written for the character. It makes no sense.
How did the dubbers get away with this?!
And they likely could have matched the joke through fringe Osaka dialects of Japanese.
Japan doesn't exist, it was invented as a ploy to sell more anime. You can't fool me you are paid by BIG ANIME.
