If they are using AI for something as simple as an image cover, then there's not stopping them from using AI for writing "news" for them in the future

Font is unreadable for anyone with glasses.

I was on facebook, the moment the backlash blew up against genAI, anti-LGBTQ+ hate speech was seldom moderated. I often got an immediate reply on my reports of stuff like that, that it did not violate any rules.

I had a trans friend in the tech industry, who kind of confirmed it, then went MIA with no explanation.

Can I oppose the use of AI in art even if I don't hate white men?

[–] trashgirlfriend@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

No actually if you're pro white men you can only look at and read generative model generated content

[–] sniggleboots@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

more like degenerate content heyo

[–] trashgirlfriend@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Degenerate content is great, I love Monogatari

the fact you think Sindarina hates white men says a lot lol

It was mostly a throwaway joke, I have no idea who they are. It was an interesting conversation filled with good points discussing the topic at hand, and then they ended with a strawman argument to talk shit on "mediocre white men" out of the blue. It's not my fault for thinking it undercut their arguments, they're the one that wrote it.

I partially agree

If you're an independent creator, I would judge you heavily for using AI, it's your work, put in effort to things you dedicate, or focus elsewhere with stock photos as filler, AI is the middle of the road but it simultaneously means a lack of effort and also a lack of care to even improve it

For businesses, it would immediately make me rank it lesser but I wouldn't be as upset compared to independent creators, businesses will do whatever to attract the most people for least and it is especially limiting if you're a small businesses. It does not inspire confidence but it is acceptable.

[–] amino@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

if anything, it's less acceptable for businesses to exploit artists because if they can't afford to pay them, they shouldn't be in business

Remember when artists often had to deal with assholes saying "Why are you charging for this? My 12yo nephew can make the same thing!" Well, AI has finally allowed said assholes to use their "nephews". Sure, buddy, you "made it yourself", but since you give no shits about quality, everyone will notice it's slop.

instead of replacing artists with AI they should replace the customers with AI agents having access to their credit cards that don't make you wanna punch them /j

"mediocre white men"?

Why throw in some racism in that last paragraph?

[–] elbarto777@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

You're not feeling included? Tough, man. Tough.

(Sarcasm.....)

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Because "mediocre white men" were thought to be more competent than "competent non-white men". I myself lost jobs to "mediocre abled men" instead, because they feared I might bite them (I'm autistic).

I noticed the immediate right-turn to sexism and racism and thought it seemed really out of place. It's like the person in a group proselysltizing CrossFit and the rest of us just want the line to move so we can get to our flight.
