2025 is the year of the Linux desktop!

Better late than never.

Windows people, "KDE" might be a flavor of linux you like.

I would, though sadly the games I like to play don't run well on linux yet

No. Just compatibility. Such as star citizen

You can run SC on Linux. Apparently the performance can be even better than windows with a lightweight window manager: https://github.com/starcitizen-lug/knowledge-base/wiki

Oh?

Then I might actually have a look.

Thx!

No worries I hope it works out for you. GLHF!

I switched to Mint a few weeks ago. There was no particular reason at that time, just all the general discontent with Microsoft built up since they released Windows 8, but things like this make me glad I did. Also glad that I've mostly not had any issues with the switch. Proton and wine are amazing.

Fedora and GNOME, just works ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป ... tried KDE with several distros (like the customisableness), but it always gives me lots of trouble

Gnome just works... until it doesn't. I prefer KDE, as it's a lot more flexible.

Different folks, different strokes. Luckily there is choice.

Cinnamon better

Fuck this shit

Use a domain account. Problem solved. Whoever uses a win-acc doesn't care for Linux anyway and will never see this thread.
