Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has revealed he considers George Russell among the top three drivers on the F1 grid as he lauded his driver's strong start to 2025.

He says this, but you know he views Verstappen as above George so if Max wants to come to Mercedes, it's going to be George that gets the boot.

Every team on the grid will boot a driver if they can get Verstappen or Hamilton to drive for them.

Definitetly think Russell is underrated. I think that's due to being Hamilton's teammate for a while, everyone was focusing on Hamiltons performances relative to George's.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of his, but he's quick and has had some great overtakes were he just won't quit for several corners.

George has always been good. Winning both F3 and F2 in your rookie seasons is rare for a reason. I think the narrative the last couple of years has been looking at Rus and Ham and saying "wow, is Hamilton washed!?" when the reality might be more like "wow, Russell is really good".
