There will be mass graves in the US if the oligarchs have their way about it.

And they won't care because their profits will soar in the short-term.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 11 points 5 months ago (2 children)

What's even crazier is their profits are nose diving.

Makes me suspect they're not even playing that ballgame anymore. The only thing scarier than a rich person's unquenchable avarice is a rich person who has decided money isn't enough.

They're intentionally crashing the economy so the working class and wealthy have to sell up. Then the mega wealthy buy everything cheap (think: farm land, real estate, supermarket chains, transport, housing) once they own everything they will charge us anything and we will be living paycheck to paycheck but existing on credit.

Similar to now but there will be zero regulations. No work safety. No food safety. No electronics QC. No building safety standards and no recourse for compensation when the inevitable deaths and injuries occur because the owners are the rulers.

That's about the size of it in a nutshell

I'm cynical, I believe they'll rebound in the short term... And the worker class will be all the worse for it... I certainly hope I'm wrong though.

I thought the document was called Project 2025, and it wasn't leaked online so much as published. Gutting "entitlements" has been their plan all along.

Greedy Old Peophiles only have uses for the young folk.

They want to privatise everything then drain the working class bank accounts with the cost of living.

At this point I hope they completely destroy social security. This would be one powerful way to get the idiot trump voters to start second guessing their voting habits. Then maybe... we get dems to come back and fix it?

Idk. The shit trump is doing has to hurt his supporters otherwise nothings gonna happen.

Lol. He doesn't care about them. They will all be actual wage slaves like everyone else but at least they "owned the libs"

Is there any link to an article that is more than just a picture and title? am I missing something?

https://www.thedailybeast.com/memo-reveals-plans-to-sabotage-social-security/

This is where the link took me. It's a full article.

Seems like its probably a PieFed issue.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 months ago

NoScript is awesome but breaks so much. No worries, glad you got it figured out.

The alternative to no social security, medicare, etc is the kind of human experience you see in a country like India which also doesn't have those sorts of programs. The disabled or old and poor end up either having to depend on their children, if they have any, or living on the streets begging and hoping for charity NGOs to help them.

And so, many areas become rife with poverty and disease. They're not safe, clean places to live let alone raise your kids. India ended up full of little gated communities because of this problem.

That's what America would become without social safety nets.
