Wow looks like a dystopia from CHINA with no lawns mowed.

The vast majority of Tokyo is a grim concrete sprawl. It's worth noting that nearly all (or maybe all) of the greenery in the photo has been put on the street by the homeowners.

I walked around Tokyo and I rode my bike a lot and I did see a few alleyway like streets like that but they were small and a real rarity.

I actually think Japanese city planning is pretty top-tier but I will say that there should be more street trees.
