Has anyone else noticed increased memory usage with Firefox lately, perhaps on 117? (lemmy.world)

For the past few weeks I've seen Firefox use up more memory in MacOS Activity monitor with less tabs. I really don't feel like troubleshooting it though.

yeah, I'm on Mac and Firefox is using like twice the memory that chrome does for the same amount or less tabs

Have you turned on anti tracking features? Any of the stuff that just got updates that prevents cookies (answers and deals with the cookie popups), disables trackers or uses their VPN?
