Yeah, the inertia to do anything about fraud is staggering and considering that there is more bad science and randomly wrong science that is even more difficult to correct... Glad I'm not in academia.

Here is a very interesting analysis of a group of papers done by one of the same authors (Gino) on another study about dishonesty. Ariely comes out looking pretty unsavory as well, and is implicated in other frauds.
