Two men have been arrested in India in connection with the alleged rape of an Israeli and a local woman.

The Israeli woman and her homestay operator were said to be stargazing with three male travellers in Koppal town in southern Karnataka state on Thursday night.

Police said three men on a motorbike approached them and asked for money. After an argument, the men pushed the male travellers into a nearby canal before sexually assaulting the two women.

Ram L Arasiddi, a local police official, said one of travellers had drowned and his body was recovered on Saturday. The other two men swam to safety, he said.

Something doesn't add up about the 3v3 male conflict. I can't imagine 3 guys getting all 3 in the canal without the use of weapons or something. And the 2 swiming to saftey abandoning the women seems odd too. Then the women hanging around rather than running. Just feels like there are some details missing in the article.

Absolutly believable. People often have a rather high resistance to engage in physical altercations even when directly targeted and a lot of people don't know how to defend themselves, even more so if facing against a group and in darkness.

A group that works coordinated, brings one member of their opponents to the ground and uses kicks to the head has a good chance to only face two opponents within 15 seconds, sadly.

Besides: There is literally no mention that no weapons were used and there is literally zero mention in the article (and never has been,I checked) that the woman stayed. (Besides - have you considered that people might get injured enough after a sexual assault that they are unable to run away)?

Wtf man, what is your point?

I assumed the assault was after the men were pushed into the canal. But my point was it felt like the authorities were leaving things out. Maybe to not scare away tourists anymore than possible.

That's terrible if true... But where is the "israeli" really from?
