Husband works as a music supervisor in film/TV and has a giant personal collection of music. The current library is about 12TB and always growing. He has it on a RAID drive connected to his Mac Book Pro M3. The last two weeks the external drive keeps ejecting itself. This was an issue before with Mac and we switched to a Terramaster Thunderbolt RAID enclosure to avoid any adapters in the middle. It has been mostly stable until about two weeks ago. It has self ejected four times in two weeks.

There are two back-ups of the RAID device. One on an external Seagate USB 20TB drive that he uses Carbon Copy Cloner on at least once a week and the other on a Synology NAS unit in the house (2 Samsung 20TB drives).

Since the Terramaster is starting to act up, which brand would you switch to? I assume we're going to have rebuild from scratch if swap the drives out of the Terramaster to the new unit or just get new drives and treat the current RAID as another back-up. I believe it is a RAID 1 set-up currently in the Terramaster with Samsung 20TB drives.

Thoughts? Laptop is up to date on OSX.
