I will refuse to accept any election results if Antony doesn't call it!

He isn't a genius. ABC should pay him to supervise a replacement analyst/presenter for the next election. Simple.
We just don't expect public figures to do their jobs well like he did. I wish he was the norm.
ABC should pay him to supervise a replacement analyst/presenter for the next election
They've basically been doing that. His replacement has been on the ABC in a secondary role for most elections over the last few years. It's been pretty apparent that he was being groomed to replace Antony Green once Green retires.
I'll always admire his passion during elections. Dude is like an soccer commentator, getting all over excited over tiny movements and throwing up replays and overlays with arrows pointing at stuff and everything.
I hope his replacement has the same passion.
He really makes election night fun.
Some elections i'd just throw him on while looking up other status reports, just spend the night watching the election unfold, such fun.
I think the craziest was the earth stomping WA Labor victory, it was over so quickly, sooo decisively. I did feel a bit robbed of my election watching night though, had to find something else to do.
The man is 68. He's been doing this for 36 years. I don't want to still be working past that age, so I totally get it. I wish him well!
He telegraphed this a while back. Job well done, wish him the best with his next adventures in life.
Who do we think is gonna get the nod?
-
Ben Raue should be a contender, although his previous polical affiliations might get in the way.
-
Kevin Bonham, from tassy, don't know much about him myself.
-
William Bowe of Poll Bludger fame. I have to go for him as a hometown hero! Lol!
-
Glenn Druery, the preference whisperer, could be a controversial but interesting pick.
I'm sure theres plenty of other people who wpuld be great options.
It's mentioned in the article:
Green will be succeeded by Casey Briggs, already well-known to ABC audiences for his outstanding communication and data skills.
Briggs's title will be ABC chief election and data analyst.
Ah, serves me right for commenting without reading, cheers!
Honestly I didn't know his name, but by his face, that's exactly who I would have predicted. It's been fairly obvious that they've been grooming him for the role for some time now.
