A community for some conservative points of view. You can comment but not post articles, because there are bad-faith posters who want to post horrible content just to get people in trouble.

Rule 0: Serial downvoters who downvote out of hate and don't interact with the community will be banned.

πŸƒπŸŒ» Rule 1: Kindly be empathetic and kind to others. Trolling and spamming will not be tolerated. Making the community a friendly & supportive place is our goal.

All of us are here for a short lifetime. Let’s have a nice time here and avoid negativity. :)

Please be respectful, even if you don't agree.

Don't personally attack people. Don't call them names.

Be grown-ups.

Every accusation is a confession.

As are most of the memes posted here.

The funny thing is a liberal would describe a conservative the same way. Sadly, our corporate and political overlords have convinced us that all of us non-1%ers are each others' enemies. Meanwhile, they are rigging the system to fleece us blind.

I tried to understand this, but it didn't work.

I'm not sure it was me, in this case.

I never thought I will be happy to see conservatives here. Spice it up, baby!

But in all seriousness, this is such a poor take I can't even

  1. Huh? The closest I can see to this is liberals being intolerant of the intolerant. If you show intolerance to others and are willing to control someone else - you should be prevented from doing it.

  2. Opinions are one thing, baits are the other. An opinion should be based on some sort of evidence. When you have some valid data to back your take with, or at least have concerns that are not straight up refused by science and common knowledge, you should be listened to. If not, then not. That's the issue with all sides btw, and there are quite some liberals that are fanatically chanting something. Among conservatives, this seems to be a majority.

  3. Uhm, yes, building a better world includes being nice to each other. There are edge cases when this must be overlooked for the greater good, but overall, the better we are to each other, the better the world is for everyone. That's basic logic.

  4. No, rules are the same for everyone. The debate is, what should those rules be.

The vast majority of people think they should have the right to control others lives. Don't think people should be allowed to kill others? Trying to control others lives. Don't think people should be allowed to get gender affirming care? Trying to control others people's lives.

As for censorship of dissenting opinions, that is a real problem here on Lemmy, many people do seem to think that it's one rule for them when they censor opinions they disagree with, but when others censor their opinions, it's another rule entirely. How about just no censorship, people?

I'm on board with this statement. Well said!
