These threads used to be really useful back on Reddit.

I'm currently finishing off full app translations for the next release along with lots of the usual bug fixes.

What should I prioritise next?

Cheers, Lj

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, have an incorrect setting, or if this is expected behavior, but the thing that's been driving me nuts is when I go to share a link it always copies the source of the post for the lemmy link.

If, for example, I'm browsing on lemmy.ml and I want to share a post from lemmy.world, I'd like to be able to copy the lemmy.ml version of the lemmy.world post.

It doesn't make as much sense with public instances, but when you're using a private instance and you want to share with friends and family it can be kind of a hassle to retrieve the URL for said private instance.

User mentions doesn't appear to be working for me.

Someone mentioned me a couple of days ago and it never came through. Could it be an instance thing?

I am still not able to see media from "files.catbox.moe"

I think that getting support for 0.19 working is a bit important now, since many smaller instances seem to be taking the plunge and upgrading to the beta, so being able to login and support lemmy instances with the new auth protocols is very important.

I have no idea how this works so hopefully this isn't too wild but it would be neat to be able to use the app with kbin (a kbin account from a kbin instance, not just look at kbin content is what I mean)

Edit: nvm i see someone else already suggested it and you responded, should've checked first

I haven't seen other people report this, but for me if you click on comments then hit back it won't take you to the page you clicked on the comment link from, but rather the previous one. So if I was on page 2, go into comments then click' back' I'd end up on page 1.

I miss the navigation buttons I had on RIF. Each comment had a next and previous button which would jump the focus to the next or previous comment. Replies had a go-to-parent button

In app YouTube player like Reddit Sync had. Drives me nuts when I inadvertently click a YouTube link and it takes me to the YouTube app. It's a pain to get back to Lemmy.

Also, I think I remember a check box on Reddit Sync's in app browser to disable cookies or clear on close or something. That would be nice to have back.

If no content found on default sort, automatically fail over to a second sort selected by the user.

I.e add a toggle that allows "if default is top 12hrs but no content found, load content from new."

I love the post preview feature when sharing posts online or with friends.

I think something that would be beneficial to Lemmy (and hence Sync) would be if the entire community name (such as !syncforlemmy@lemmy.world) be displayed in the preview.

A rough MS Paint example:

A feature I would love to have is Auto load next page if a full page of results is filtered. With some communities getting fed content by posting bots that load a chunk of posts all at once, I often hit instances while browsing /all where multiple pages will be empty due to filters. It would be great if the app just loaded the next page automatically in these instances instead of having to manually load the next page.

I'd love these things:

  1. Be able to mark text and wrap with `...`, back ticks, for code formatting.
  2. Mark comment replies as unread.

Would be nice to be able to see a single comment thread for any given comment, not only when coming from profile comments section.

I love long pressing an image to view and sliding my finger down to the options at the bottom to copy, view in browser, etc. Would be nice if download was one of those quick actions.

This isn't really a feature suggestion, but rather a quality of life improvement.

Lately I've been getting a lot of messages saying "All posts hidden on page ### - RETRY" due to having to have so many filters on Lemmy to hide whole communities.

Just this morning I had to hit retry about 6-7 times in a row because there were 6-7 pages on posts completely filtered out..

Had the same issue on sync for reddit but it wasn't as noticeable since filters weren't required as much. On Lemmy it's a staple and kind of annoying once you have a fair bit of communities filtered out.
