I've previously used twittervideodownloader.com to get mp4 links which can then be embedded anywhere, such as here on Lemmy.

Example:

  • Typefully returns "Preparing videos... No video found in the post".

  • Bskydownloader produces no errors this time, but the download URL provided seems to be hosted on bskydownloader, not BlueSky itself, and cant be embeded: blob:https://www.bskydownloader.com/dc65d8cd-200b-4840-b98d-23b7c6f29164

There's a Bluesky video downloader bot, but I don't remember its name. Yt-dlp also works with it.

I can download Bluesky videos with no problems. My issue is with embedding videos which are hosted on Bluesky.

What I'm looking for is a way to link to a video hosted on Bluesky in such a way that it can be embedded elsewhere, such as on Lemmy.
