Everyone fixates on 9/11 and it's not even in the top 50 most horrific acts of mass violence in my lifetime. Like bro, Rwanda? 500,000 kids maybe dying in Iraq and Albright saying it was worth it? Famines in Africa? And dozens of others. Woof.

Trauma is based on what you experience. If something happens far away and you're completely unaware of it, it can't traumatize you. Americans collectively experienced 9/11 in real time.
