Lol tbh I think Starfleet is severely lacking in security, it always seems like everyone and their mom can take control of things whenever they want lmao

To be fair, usually the people we see bypassing security systems, is usually either a military officer, or a criminal. Both of which are more likely to have that sort of training and skill set.

Although there definitely is a lack of general security on Starfleet ships beyond the basics, especially compared to current standards.

That's not even remotely true. Just about every episode someone hacks something, and even in the one where 21st century business guy gets unfrozen, he immediately starts accessing systems he isn't supposed to.
