Shawn Levy is giving insight into Deadpool 3 and the Wolverine suit that Hugh Jackman will be sporting in the MCU film that is comic-accurate.

“Like the rest of the world, I’ve waited two decades to see Wolverine in a whole movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make goddamned sure we get the old yellow and blue just once, and that we get it right,” Levy told EW.

Marvel fans were treated to a sneak peek of Jackman’s yellow Wolverine suit when an image from the set of Deadpool 3 was shared on social media. The suit is bright and yellow and it’s a callback to the one Wolverine wore in X-Men: The Animated Series from the 90s.

Levy said that to get to the final design, the team behind the suit went through multiple iterations adding, “It also helps that I’m making this movie within the MCU, so I have access to an army of the nerdiest nerds available to a Marvel project.”

The director mentioned that Ryan Reynolds “wanted our movie to be grounded and not feel like a bunch of physical environments filmed on a soundstage.” Since sharing the photos of the costumes online, Levy says that the reaction to it “has been overwhelmingly positive.”

As of now, Production of Deadpool 3 has been halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Strange title since the suit has been leaked for a while, but Levy does give a tiny bit of new info. Figured I'd share since news has been slow since the strike. Marked NSFW in case anyone hasn't/doesn't want to see it yet.

I don’t understand how this is comic-accurate. Looks nothing like the comic. Looks more like a space suit.

For sure. I'm sure it'll work for the movie, but I hope that when X-Men come to the MCU, we get a proper short king to play wolverine with THE suit/mask.
