no but this is a legit thing... people often stay on welfare bc the only jobs they can get will pay less than welfare does.

the solution is of course, not lowering welfare, but raising wages

That and assistance shouldn't be pulled from under you the moment you make a penny over a certain amount. It should be weened off.
