Please let us know how it goes.

Not sure on this one. Short notice, plus the fact that there were 4000 estimated for the Somos protest on Monday. By comparison, the Protest against the invasion of Iraq during bush 2 was 3000. So that's darned pretty good. I have one thing to finisher here at work, and will head over after that. I'll let you know.

I tried to get something going here in town but the woman I normally work with to organize things cut ties with the dems, and their HQ closed after Election Day.

There's a problem with this (and other protests). What is the plan/goal of these? Think carefully about this.

If your goal is to show opposition to presidents Trump and Musk in numbers, they don't give a fuck. None. They probably beat off on how upset you are, and how many they have upset.

If you're not trying to convince them, what are you trying to do? There are many possible answers, but you should know your goals, and develop your plans accordingly.

After looking into the state of the state, lol, in NM, this is an ongoing protest by some most excellent organizers who I will not dox, every day noon till 5pm during the month long 'short session', with the plan to specifically and persistently influence our legislative process. If one wishes to learn who they are and add to their on the ground efforts ( housing, food security, support of immigrants, indigenous people, houseless people, and so much more), I highly suggest getting your feet on the ground and heading over to our State Capital. I'm just the messenger, my plan/goal being to promote this community on Fedi, by showing the best of Santa Fe, and New Mexico generally.

I would guestimate there were at least 300, maybe as many as 500 on the East side of the Capital, down the eastern promenade, on OSFT and Paseo de Peralta. Flags, Signs, lots of noise and active people. I suspect few of these people were there because of this post, however, tho' the messaging was the same as I would expect. I just don't think this post had much to do with it.
