The closest serious position to anprim (green anarchism with an emphasis on degrowth and appropriate technology) puts a high value on glasses.
They can be made with technology that's older than some of our vegetables. They don't take a lot of energy or rare resources to make. They typically get a few years of use, and the waste they generate is very low. They operate passively, without requiring any additional power or input or even maintenance. One person can understand and master all the processes involved in their creation. They have a huge impact on quality of life for a rather low cost.
