Idk if it's just me, but my Lemmy feed are mostly incredibly depressing most of the time.

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 26 points 6 months ago (2 children)

have you tried using your subscribed feed instead? because the next 4 years are going to be insufferable if you don't intentionally curate.

[–] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 3 points 6 months ago

Well indeed I do. Usually the technology or maybe 196 are the main culprits with these negative posts.

[–] Piemanding@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 months ago

I don't use my subscriptions feed because I use lemmy at work and there's stuff there I don't want others to see.

I think I'll agree and I tend to forget that I've already filtered out posts with the keywords trmp and msk (did that about a year ago).

[–] HalfSalesman@lemm.ee 2 points 6 months ago

I might have to do that.

[–] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Whaaat you can filter keywords? Omg this is life altering, especially that generally non-politics channels can sometimes get political related posts. Thank you for the idea!

[–] BlastboomStrice@mander.xyz 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

At least on Thunder (the app) you can. I think many others support it as well.

It's not that I dont see anything related to those blocked keywords, but it keeps it to a kinda moderate amount for my health:) (I initially blocked them hoping that if many people stopped caring about them they might had smaller reach, but it appears it didnt work out. (PS. I'm from Greece))

Yeah unfortunately we as humanity are too recipient to negative content. Sm sm our ancient genes prioritizing fear to increase our survival chance in the wild.

I can't deny it. But a least we flood all of that with tons of irony. ✌️

I go by all and mostly get memes. This site is always waaaaaaaaaaaay behind on breaking news

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Who do you use for breaking news?

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I hate to say it but I still check Reddit a few times a day

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

On Lemmy, do you do "Hot" and "Top 6 hours"? That helps a lot. "Active" is the most dead ironically, and is the default.

Try switching to top 6, top 12 and only subscribed. If you're super desperate, try new.

Can't answer for them, but I really wish people would stop posting screenshots of Bluesky or Mastodon posts which are themselves screenshots of Twitter posts and calling it "breaking news". Hardly quality sources.

[–] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 1 points 6 months ago

Except on tech news I think

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

I block a lot of communities

[–] Zacryon@feddit.org 8 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That doesn't explain the other trained muscles though.

[–] udon@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Why is it that whenever I click on a post to comment something someone else already had the same thought and posted it and got 5 likes for it?

[–] Zacryon@feddit.org 2 points 6 months ago

It seems you've got a lot of soulmates. /j

Just today, I picked up a news I didn't like!
