Trying to set up my first NAS/JBOD. I got a new LSI 9300-8e installed in an Intel Server. Windows sees the LSI in hardware manager but cannot see any of the drives connected to my NetApp 22446... Is this a bios thing - Please help! I was able to install TruNas and I am pretty sure they show up there, but not in Windows!!!

I did a little research and read that the firmware can be updated on the LSI -- is this recommended and where/how do I do that??

Also, any recommended guides or advice is much appreciated... I am new to this!

I have four 112T servers and want to be able to experiment since this is my first time building a rack. Am I better off using bios raid / hw raid / or an OS like TruNAS to combine the drives and servers? Is there some way to mount/connect all this through a network switch?
