no real hate to the original creator or post but i am not really a fan of the venture capital aspect of bluesky also it’s not even fediverse (currently only accessible via bridge) so taking the opportunity to make a factually correct meme lol 😝

I think it works either or, Bluesky might not be federated (yet (if they're actually working on it)), but being so popular it's kinda like a Jupiter to the Fediverse, it's shielding us from the vast majority of ~~asteroids~~ right-wing nutcases

[–] DigitalNirvana@lemm.ee 2 points 6 months ago

It seems you may have a point.

[–] Plastic_Ramses@lemmy.world -1 points 6 months ago (3 children)

Eh, we still have hexbear and ml twat waffles.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Yea, but if .world finished off defederating from the Tankie Triad (they already did Hex and Grad lol) they would fade into obscurity

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They started the fediverse tho...

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Um, no, the tankies did not start the Fediverse. The lead Lemmy devs are Tankies yes unfortunately.

But just because someone does something good does not mean we have to give them carte blanche to do what ever they want

Ah yes, "Not wanting to praise authoritarian regimes like China and Russia" = "neolib", Tankie detected!

Seems legit - we aren't the slightest bit tolerant to anyone with an even subtly different POV. e.g., the Linux distro that I use... is a Mac OSX (runs away quickly, gets beat anyway). :-P

[–] 10MeterFeldweg@feddit.org 45 points 6 months ago (1 children)

And rightfully so, because Mac OS X is no Linux distro. It is a BSD derivate.

"Wow the fediverse is such an echo chamber" 🤡

[–] spujb@lemmy.cafe 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

yeah im not really into the rhetoric of this meme either, just wanted to correct the weird “fediverse” misinformation

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You might be misleading some people with this statement then:

taking the opportunity to make a factually correct meme lol 😝

[–] spujb@lemmy.cafe 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

kay this is too many layers of petty for me to respond, i replaced bluesky with mastodon because bluesky isn’t fediverse. upvote or downvote i don’t care.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Fwiw, I did neither, and was just trying to help explain why people seemed to be reacting this way:-).

[–] spujb@lemmy.cafe 2 points 6 months ago

fair enuf tyy :)

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

The point of trolling isn't to have reasoned debate, it's to get people riled up and acting irrationally.

Seems like they're still winning.

[–] CTDummy@lemm.ee 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I wouldn’t say anyone who trolls is “winning” maybe succeeding but definitely not winning, does make me curious about your use of “they” though.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Depends on how they define winning. They may not be winning in your eyes, but not everyone views the world (or success) in the same way.

Or are you trolling me now?

[–] CTDummy@lemm.ee 1 points 6 months ago

The only person who might view it as “winning” is the troll themselves; not any normal person. At least not by any reasonable metric. They may succeed in provoking a reaction from individuals but the term “winning” seems to imply there some ideological or political ground that’s being gained by partaking in behaviour that existed since forums day.

What would conservatives (or members of any group) “win” in the macro by successfully trolling someone? By an average or typical point of view; not from theirs or by some nebulous definition of winning. Specifically, who else but a troll would view this as winning anything? I very well could have accidentally dragged us into a discussion of semantics (ugh) though. Just seemed like an odd choice of words but maybe I’m being pedantic. Which may be the case if you genuinely think I’m trolling you.

[–] spujb@lemmy.cafe 1 points 6 months ago

i’m not the original poster of this and i agree that using “trolling” was a weird choice. if i was still making this myself i might have said “spreading fascist propaganda” or something.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Fascists should be banned on sight.

A conservative believes in low taxes and a limited government whose primary role is providing public services and (theoretically) protecting human rights. Regardless of the reality behind the curtain, that's what they tell their base they're about.

Anyone arguing for that is welcome.

How many "conservatives" are arguing for that instead of genociding trans kids and murdering immigrants?
