Before my dog got to food outside once, I gave her the "leave it" command, and she came over instead for her treat. What a good girl. Then after her treat, she lunged towards the food and gulped it down in one swift move.

Mine starts trying to spit it out as fast as possible when I catch her, tongue flippin and all, just watch it fall out to the floor.

We don't play with random shit after she pulled the plastic wire tac nail things from the wall and swallowed four of them. $1000 for a vet to stuff her full of food and a shot to induce vomiting...

THIS apparently is a rule of nature in the relationship between dogs and humans. I have never asked my dog that question without them immediately ignoring me and chewing faster

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I'm curious. What answer were you expecting?

[–] Mickey7@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago (1 children)

People without dogs don't know much about how they interact with humans

I wish that I'd asked the dogs I've owned, if they knew about this.

This, but my pig. And I ain't going in that mouth. By man is on his own once he starts.

And he is exactly like a 3 yr old. Catch him eating something weird, RONK, and he's off to the races.

Is this an indoor pig? And what will his maximum weight be? Does he cuddle?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

He was indoor for a few years, just too destructive because I didn't pay him enough attention. Smartest animal I've ever met, needs lots of love.

Yes, he'll cuddle, but he obviously didn't get love when he was young. Not violent, but a bit prickly.

He's maxed out at about 150-175lbs, looks like a medium-to-large dog (they're dense). He could get way fatter, gotta keep them dialed in. Never watch a video of a pig with arthritis, make you cry.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Is cuddling ever dangerous? Like, a cat is usually max. 10 kg, but they can be surprisingly intense while cuddling. I'm trying to imagine a 75kg pig standing next to you and flopping down, and it probably doesn't feel good!

[–] YtA4QCam2A9j7EfTgHrH 1 points 10 months ago

My sister has an English bulldog like that. Dense. But he is dumb as a rock. Inbreeding doesn’t do an animal good.

[–] Hupf@feddit.org 2 points 10 months ago

And what will his maximum weight be?

NO, BROTHER. You must believe me. Share with me the oats and you shall not reach the desired girth for the tall skinny ones. They will spare your life, brother.

I live in a rural setting, so 90% of the time the answer to that question is wild animal poop or some dead critter. Sometimes though it's a bug or random fruit/veggie.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I live in a city where "people" sometimes throw around sausages with razors for dogs to eat and die. So there's that.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

I'd find one and beat them with that razor sausage

[–] piracysails@lemm.ee 9 points 10 months ago

Um, what the fuck.

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I learned a whole new hatred for people who don't follow Leave No Trace principals and fail to dig a latrine/cat hole.

[–] anarchyrabbit@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Your dog chews? Mine just swallow.

[–] Sorgan71@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago
