Getting this out of the way: RAID IS NOT A BACKUP SOLUTION IN ITSELF. IT IS REDUNANCY FOR REDUCED DOWNTIME.

Now then, say hypothetically you have a 90TB RAID or NAS. How do you back up something like that? Another 90TB NAS on a different machine? Even then, you wouldn't be able to keep versioning in case you accidentally delete something; you'd need an even larger NAS for that.
