This question has been asked before, but the last post on the topic was a few years ago, so its advice must be mostly outdated.

I bought a Seagate Exos X16 14TB drive but I wasn't prepared for the regular thumping every 8 seconds (when it does it, which it isn't always) of the PWL. Now I'm undecided between returning it or moving the NAS away from my room (which won't be trivial), are there any silent large drives?
