Remembering reading about it in a Game Fan magazine (the best gaming mag ever) and being blown away by the graphics. This was right before Shenmue came out and Sega was killing it pushing arcade hardware tech.

Fun fact, the guy who went on to create the Yakuza games was the director.

I love that sort of late golden-era Sega Arcade game look. It's like peak "Video game-y" (in a good way) to me. I love it. I think it was 1997-2001 era.

Yeah Model 1-2-3 from Sega were peak arcade graphics and gameplay imo. You had so many hits like Virtua Fighter, Daytona USA, Hose Of The Dead, Sega Rally etc. etc. then a lot of that tech went into the Dreamcast.

The creator was at Sega for 30+ years, he was responsible for a lot of stuff you probably don't realize, like he was involved with Virtua Racing, Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter, Super Monkey Ball, F-Zero GX and more.
