I recently purchased a 2TB NVMe from Micro Center with the intent to use it to hoard as many games as possible on my PS5. My current setup is the stock 825GB NVMe + expansion 512GB NVMe (for PS5 games) + 4TB external HDD (for PS4 games). I had a few gift cards to burn, so I decided to pick up a bigger NVMe. I saw the SK Hynix Platinum 2TB was on sale, but then saw the open-box was even cheaper (about $112 compared to $140), so I picked that one up. Went to run some diagnostics on it before putting it in my PS5, and then I saw this:

Okay, NBD. Use is expected, but I at least figured Micro Center would check for and erase any data, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong! I did a little bit more snooping and found this in the user's Downloads folder:

After having watched too many Kitboga videos where AnyDesk was used, I've decided to return this immediately and just go with a new NVMe instead. Yeah, if I'm just using this for my PS5, it's probably not a big deal, but if the previous user was downloading and using AnyDesk, I'm not trusting it.
I guess the main reason I'm posting this here is to ask two things: Am I overreacting? And has anyone else had this happen when buying open-boxed storage from Micro Center? Figured I can get some insight on these things on this sub.
