I have used these for backups for all previous drives of all different sizes (including 10TB EXOS drives) and always worked fine... but for these new 12TB X18 EXOS drives, the drive seems to hang in enclosure, even though device seems to appear in Device Manager, and the USB connected sound appears in Windows 10... the drive does not appear in and drive related software (Computer Management- Format, Seatools 5 etc) and these hang when it is connected for a long time (SATA bus hanging).
This is newer model https://www.startech.com/en-ie/hdd/sdock4u313 . Model I have was bought in 2014.
Anyone use these, or know why? The external dock model I have is from a good few years ago... could its hardware just not be compatible somehow with these newer drives??
