Are you talking about in a browser or an app? I just started seeing it pop up in a toast notification occasionally in Jerboa this afternoon. It wouldn't surprise me if it has to do with server load issues.

AFAIK, it is more of a bug than server load issue. This have been going on for a while in Jerboa. Will be hopefully fixed when someone has the time to find the cause of the issue.

Yeah it happens to me too, timeout certainly means that the connection to Lemmy was lost or stopped
