I'm not so sure about the Mbin part, I've had it happen from my Lemmy account too. As far as I can tell, it suggests the direct link https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/yepowertrippinbastards when you type !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com if you accept the autosuggest.
From what I've seen, if you ignore it and just type/paste the link and submit the comment, it doesn't happen.
On Lemmy it works using the autosuggest, I'm pretty confident. Which instance are you using?
fedia.io (Mbin), but I've seen the formatting shenanigans happen on my posts made in lemmy.world too.
LW is on 0.19.3, I guess this has been solved on newer versions
You gotta leave a couple of them unblocked though just in case you're feeling a little more chaotic than usual one day
