My parent's dog is like this. He hates winter because he's always cold and shivering. He shivers so much, that they have to give him more food, or he'll lose too much weight. Now you might say "why don't they give him a sweater or a blanket"? Well they do and they've tried to convince him that these things keep him warm. But he's also kind of dumb and will remove any sweater when you're not looking and he'll only stay under blankets if you sit with him. So instead they've resorted to having a plug in heater he can go sit by if he wants to. But he doesn't always seem to remember it's there and shivers anyway.

Dogs are incredibly smart but also incredibly dumb
I’m also very smart but super dumb, also if my my gf walks into a room I’m super happy to see her even if was for 2 minutes
Am I a dog?
Unsure. How do your feel about eating the same foods every single day? Also, opinions on strangers arriving at your door.
Well I really love new food but have no complaints if I eat similarly, and as for strangers it depends on if I’m expecting them
So what’s the diagnosis
Hmm... we might have to run more tests at the P A R K later.
That could be anywhere, idk what secret code you’re using
Park?
DUUUUUUDE HELL YEAH
I'm all these things. Turns out, autism.
Maybe it's even more important to him to be close to you or your folks than it is to be warm? ☺️
Maybe he'd like a warm blanket too? Cute pics
Ah that's too sweet
My wife bought little animal specific heating pads for the cats. It’s ridiculous but they work.
Try a heated mattress or chair pad next. Pets love those.
I have a heated mattress pad on my futon couch and my cats are absolutely glued to my sides when I’m on it, even demanding I create a blanket cave for them to fully enjoy the heat. I have another for my bed and same thing there.
I keep my heat super low (60f or 15.5c) because of those heated pads. They cost a few dollars to run per month. My furnace costs hundreds to run per month. Not super comfortable (I’m built for tropical climates; I’m cold at 75f/23.8c), but workable for the savings.
