Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Summary

Donald Trump has privately expressed annoyance with Elon Musk, despite their recent closeness.

Musk, a major Trump donor, has reportedly irritated Trump by his frequent presence at Mar-a-Lago and his bold interactions.

Trump dislikes the “President Musk” nickname and finds Musk’s assertiveness challenging, though he values Musk’s financial contributions.

According to insiders, their relationship is “fraught” but functional, with Musk’s influence limited compared to key advisers like Susie Wiles and Stephen Miller.

President Musk needs to get his little lackey under control.

B-b-but Trump is safe! Elon Musk cannot be president because he was not born in America. Trump said so himself!

Obviously Musk is the provider in this relationship, so Trump is the trophy bride.

Trump, Trump.... Oh! You mean the guy Elon bought?

Haven't thought about him or the sofa guy in a while.

Peter Thiel must be sad. I wonder if he was the one who hired Milo to trash talk about Loomer to Trump to get her off the campaign trail.

I don't think anyone could last very long being in the same room as elon. That's gotta get annoying real fast.

He's paid Trump something like $3M/day. I'll put up with a lot of shit for $3M.

Although, now I think about it, after I've collected a few hundred mil, that next $3M probably wouldn't seem so compelling.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

After a couple days I'd be more than set....but I'd put up with it for longer just to drain his wealth and redistribute it

Its all been spent before he gets it

The Trump stench has to be unbearable, too.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I bet he's got Trump's two brain cells both constantly firing at the same time. Complete overload.

Premise: Trump doesn't like Musk and wants him gone, but doesn't want to make an enemy of the world's richest man

Premise: Musk is still there

Conclusion: Even a man who loves firing people on TV finds it awkward to say "You're cancelled" to someone who could buy the network.

[–] erdedrache@mstdn.social 2 points 1 year ago

@Melatonin @MicroWave

I was under the assumption that he already bought the network.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Haha, he's so easy to play, even we can sway the president... man, this is gonna suck.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago (2 children)

We already did this joke last time with Steve Bannon and it didn’t change anything.

[–] MeekerThanBeaker@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

But majority of Americans don't know who Bannon is. They do know who Musk is... so it may stick around longer.

[–] growsomethinggood@reddthat.com 10 points 1 year ago

Who's to say if it didn't change anything? If it keeps their camp in even slightly more disarray and distrust, the inefficiency in enacting terrible policies could save lives.

That said, I do think this time is a bit different since I believe Bannon is happy to play the role of sycophant, but Elon has a lot of ego going into this. Even with no outside pressure, Trump and Elon are going to have major personality clashes sooner than later.

All hail your new president, Elonald Mump

I’m waiting for Musk getting tossed in supermax as an “official act.” Arrested after a firefight between his security and an FBI SWAT team.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Joke? musk is the president. trump has to ask his permission to shit his own diaper.
