So Elsevier has evolved from gatekeeping science to sabotaging science. Sounds like something an unaligned AGI would do.

i've noticed that at least one elsevier journals dropped article fees ($2k ballpark) as long as article was submitted before end of last year. what could have been the catch, i wonder, hmm

the only thing i don't understand is: why this soon, somebody clearly fed wisdom woodchipper with a deadline and had deals with all major publishers

maybe it was in preparation for spicy autocomplete as chief editor
