What an incredible series it was, too.

I reckon if/when they knock some of the rough edges of Konstas he and Khawaja will be an awesome opening pair.

Not sure if Khawaja is still up to it tbh, as someone that spared no opportunity to talk him up while he was dropped. I'll go out on a limb and predict he'll be rested during the tour of SL, come back for the Ashes and retire.

Yeah good point. It's just that he seemed to be a good calming influence.

It shit me how much the media was going on about him. Webster was a much better batsman overall in his time in this match, and he can double as a bowler. And he didn't get anywhere near the attention.

And in his first match, he got 60 off 65, which is barely better than Cummins' 49 off 63. And Cummins is a fucking bowler.

They like him because he plays stupid impractical shots and he plays up to the crowd. He's more of a social media influencer than a test cricketer IMO. And that's bad for the game.

I wouldn't say that's bad for the game. Test cricket was always an "oldies" game. Now we have young kids following Konstas thus interested in test cricket.

Test cricket has slowly been dying off in this country and we need the younger audience to keep it going.
