Hello I'm trying to backup some web articles as PDF files.

unfortunately it seems most CLI tools, and browsers print functions, assumes I want to print them on a paper and thus removes all the formating and forces the layout onto several A4 papers.

I know there's the "background graphics" and different size templates you can pick from in chromium browsers but it still ruins the layout.

So far the best option I've found was operas snapshot feature unfortunately it compresses the images if the sites to wide or long.

I know there's also stuff like httrack but I'd really like a PDF so I can read them on my mobile devices.

Does anyone know of any good software for that?

So far I've tried:

  • All browsers (with operas snapshot being the best)
  • pandoc CLI
  • httrack
  • pdflatex
