My pc only has a 1tb SSD installed, and I currently offload things (videos and projects) I'm not using onto an external 1tb SSD. Not only would I like to expand my storage, I'd like reliable back-up in case a drive fails. Would a DAS two-bay RAID 1 enclosure with a couple HDD work for me? Is a there a better system for me that isn't crazy expensive? I essentially just want to back up my PC and also store all my old projects on the same drive, and have another drive as an exact back-up in case of failure.

I do a lot of personal video editing, so I'm thinking of getting some sort of two-bay raid enclosure and a couple hard drives (preferably 8tb or more) and setting it to RAID 1 so that one 8tb drive acts as a back-up for the other 8tb drive. I'd like to back-up my 1tb PC SSD to this drive and also store all the footage and projects I'm not using.

What RAID two-drive bay would you recommend, and who two drives should I get for a configuration like this? I'm brand new to a system like this (mainly storing old data on crappy store-bought drives), so I'd appreciate any advice.
