I just purchased an 8TB model from B&H, and was surprised to plug it in and find it show up in Disk Utility as APFS. I find this odd considering it’s a large spinning hard drive, which last I heard APFS does not perform well with. Before I reformat to HFS+, any reason I should leave it as it shipped?

Any good reasons SanDisk preformats spinning hard drives as APFS now?
