This is how we learn that it was Jimmy Carter keeping the Simpsons on the air all these years.

The far more upsetting part is that they are killing Bob's Burgers apparently

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

That announcement also confirmed Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy renewed through to their current 15th and 23rd seasons, respectively.

And the article basically says everyone watches on Hulu anyway.

They’re killing it? Where did you hear that?

[–] socsa@piefed.social 7 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Article says that are moving it to Wednesday

[–] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 12 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Hm, could be killing it. Alternative is that like the article says it's a bigger day for streaming, but 50/50 in my book. Personally, Bob's Burgers is the best show out of all of them mentioned in the article, and it would kill me if they cancelled it - but it's also on Season 15. I'd much rather see it cancelled on a high note rather than fall into squalor like Family Guy or Simpsons.

110% agree with this. It's had an amazing run, let it die peacefully rather than become a zombie.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 3 points 7 months ago

I’m hoping so. I’ve only ever watched it on Hulu.

You know, back in Simpsons hay days it was on Thursday nights. The first 5 or 6 seasons was Thursdays. I can't overstate how good or how popular the Simpsons was back then.

Re-watching the first 9 seasons really makes me miss having such an entertaining animated show to watch.

No no no, it says it got renewed already.

What!? Oh no!

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 17 points 7 months ago

I almost forgot this was still on TV. It used to be one of my favorite shows but I haven't watched an episode in years.

It's not often that it makes the news when something doesn't happen

[–] CharlesMangione@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

aw, dangit. anyway

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago

Not counting all the times it failed to air because of sportball.

I continue to be surprised that The Simpsons is still on the air. It's a cliche now to say it hasn't been good since the late 90s.
