It's A Digital Disease!

Hi! I want to digitise my 250 DVDS and 35 Blu Rays onto a hard drive for immediate watching from any device, so I can declutter all of my physical DVDS for extra room storage ! Does anyone know what size hdd I would need for this?

Alternatively, would you recommend using plex instead? I have so many questions about this method- How much would I need to pay for a plex server / how long would it last. Is it a rolling payment? Is there risk of losing all my dvds? Because once I donate them, I will no longer have access to them so I need the copies to be permanent, which is why I thought a HDD would be best? I am confused haha! Thanks guys!
