The cheat codes do seem to work. iddqd idkfa made this a lot easier. (Also those cheats are burned into my brain forever, I guess)

edit: You can even idclev to go to different levels

It wasn't accepting any input for "use" for me, sadly. Couldn't open doors or exit the level.
