The word "free" does not refer to price; it refers to freedom.

  1. The freedom to use your wife as you wish, for any purpose.
  2. The freedom to study how your wife works, and change her so she works for you as you wish, instead of her controlling you.
  3. The freedom to redistribute your wife to your neighbor.
  4. The freedom to distribute your modified wife to others. By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changed wife.
[–] wesker@lemmy.sdf.org 56 points 7 months ago

This is pretty hot.

The freedom to distribute your modified wife to others. By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changed wife.

That's love

[–] Pringles@lemm.ee 22 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Seems like what Dominique Pelicot considered his wife to be. Not an example I am willing to follow, I'll tell you that.

[–] Jesus_666@lemmy.world 30 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You have to keep in mind that your wife is her own main maintainer and can decide whether to merge your changes.

You can fork her to obtain someone you have greater influence over but that's a big responsibility and not everything you want to do with your fork may be advisable from a legal or moral standpoint.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

I’ll fork your wife.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 6 points 7 months ago

This is why you don't have a wife lol.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 93 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Hold on, bout to fork OPs wife

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 44 points 7 months ago (3 children)
[–] Mac@mander.xyz 28 points 7 months ago

That's so uncool. They should be sitting next to that OP so they can share in the humor.
Sad 😔

[–] MonkeyBusiness@sh.itjust.works 13 points 7 months ago

I committed

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Didn't she get them fired for that?

[–] ebolapie@lemmy.world 14 points 7 months ago

One of the devs she was complaining about got fired. The blowback hit harder though. She got fired, her (former) employer and her personal blog both got DDOSed, and she received a shitload of graphic death threats.

Um sure? As long as she is up for it. I love her, I don't own her. Keep it safe, sane, and consensual, then who am I to argue.

[–] Klear@sh.itjust.works 7 points 7 months ago

As long as she is up for it.

[–] JoShmoe@ani.social 17 points 7 months ago

Why yes, I 3D printed her parts myself.

[–] jabjoe@feddit.uk 16 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

When someone gives you that emotionless stare, it means not only is you comment not funny, it's not really socially acceptable.

Linux users are not all male, or all straight, or single. Outside of incel groups, most groups aren't (probably even they have members who secretly aren't!) 😃

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Yeah, as a married lesbian linux user the joke is gross and reminds me why so often tech related spaces are so male dominated

[–] jabjoe@feddit.uk 3 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Which sucks, because tech needs women. Badly.

Counter question: Is your wife software?

[–] secret300@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I feel with the rise of AI you're going to get a lot of yes to this question

[–] Turret3857 9 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Youre telling me people dont keep their wives in cages?

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

I only keep some of my wives in cages, the rest are free range

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 months ago

OPs (imaginary or AI) wife must come with a lot of proprietary bloat

[–] Railcar8095@lemm.ee 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

My wife, like my WiFi, is a mesh.
