I envy that you were able to go back to sleep. I stayed up very late last night because I'm on vacation and was planning on sleeping in. But I was woken up by my wife who needed me to do something urgent for her, and I can never fall back asleep after getting up. Now I have to face the rest of the day without enough sleep
Dull Men's Club
An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.
Some other communities to consider before posting:
5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

Happens to me on about a daily basis at this point .... age does that to you ... health does that to you ... pain does that to you. Usually I just take cat naps in the day anyway now. Give yourself 30 minutes (no more, no less) and you'll be good to go again for a few hours. Snooze less than 30 mins and it doesn't help ... go over 30 minutes and you'll wake up groggy and it will take you an hour or so to get back to normal.
Happy you're on vacation ... have fun where ever you are and in whatever you're doing.
I can't usually take naps. If I can fall asleep at all, it takes like 45 minutes, so setting a half hour alarm definitely doesn't work.
By "vacation" I meant I'm on PTO. I'm still at home. My wife doesn't have the extra PTO, so I'm just lounging around and trying to get some R&R.
I am super anxious today and I don't know why but I don't like it. My stomach feels weird (like low level, but persistent stage fright. Not pain/sick feels) and I have just been staying in bed all day. 🥺
If its nice out where you are ... try going for a short walk. Just having a bit of fresh air and sunlight does wonders for your mind.
Another way to reset your day is to just take a shower. If it's cold outside, take a nice hot shower. If it's hot outside, take as cold a shower as you can stand.
That you, Alfred Matthew Yankovic?
lol .... I sing those lyrics whenever a friend wants to talk to me about blues music ... I've always loved that song
Or maybe I'll go bowling
Or I just might go bowling
Maybe I'll just rent some shoes and go bowling
Maybe I'll join a league, enter a tournament, put on a stupid looking
Shirt and go bowling instead
Make it talk
Aw, make it talk, son, make it talk
OK, now make it shut up
It's a very good song.
I could hear the annoying wailing like a siren of that guitar .... lol ... Al is such a genius
Yeah, and he seems like a good person, too. I often find myself asking, "What Would Al Do?"
