so unfortunately the crazy 20TB EasyStore black friday deal sold out before I could get in on it. tariff talks are getting to me and I feel pressure to buy some hoarding equipment before prices potentially go upnext year. I didn't even see many deals on NASes during black friday

What are the best deals likely to be in the short term? are there ever holiday sales? I've seen ServerPartDeals and Ebay mentioned a lot in hoarding discussions, but I don't know which options are good deals or reliable.

  • My HDD "needs" are just to have the best $/TB ratio. The 20TBs were an amazing deal, but I realize there may be comparable deals that I'm not aware of. my budget for HDDs is preferably less than $1000
  • I'm on the fence about what my NAS "needs" are. Is it ever worth going for a NAS with more than 4 bays, or is it more economical to buy 4-bay nases? My main "need" is to run multiple 4k plex streams at the same time, and ideally something like zfs
