Αποτελέσματα από πρόσφατη κλινική δοκιμή δείχνουν ότι η ένεση λενακαπαβίρης όταν χορηγείται ως PrEP δύο φορές τον χρόνο, προσφέρει συνολικά 96% μειωμένο κίνδυνο μόλυνσης από τον ιού HIV.
