Bit of a mood today which is kind of nice cause I don't often get the nuance of it all. If you need some vibes, it started with Take 5 - Chet Faker Honestly not a MASSIVE fan of the dude, and some of his takes were a bit artsy. But theres something about hearing another guy bare their emotions and admit what they dont know gives my anxious mind permission to relax a bit and let in some feeling. Got into some Trophy Eyes as well to really sell the moodiness.

Meeting the CSO of one of my clients today. He accidentally stood me up last time so he's taking me to lunch.

Yay?

I watched How to make gravy last night. The storyline was a bit meh. I found it lacking in flavour. Not a lot of substance. Not bad, not great, just ok.

To improve the flabour, should have added a dollop of tomato sauce.

Sorry, I had to...

E: Yes I typed flabour. It stays as a reminder to be caffeinated before typing.

How long does it usually take to hear back from a place once they've moved on to reference checks? Or is asking for references a sick new part of the selection process instead of the last step for the selected candidate?

Requests for feedback on online orders are getting beyond ridiculous. This time they want to know how we like a Thing 6 hours before the notice it would land today. I also now know what my Solstice gift is, but that will happen when letting somebody else use your account.

[–] bacon@aussie.zone 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I like the concept of solstice gift.

Through some sort of weirdness of the insurance industry it has turned out to be cheaper to get comprehensive insurance for my car than third party. Renewal of the third party with RACV was going to be just over $500, a basic comprehensive policy with AAMI is $342. Even with AAMI the third party policy would have been more expensive. I have no idea why, but obviously the underlying risk assumptions for the policies have some sort of different risk calculations that work out in my favour.

I guess it's insurance day today, after sorting the car I moved on to finalising the forms for Income Protection. So much money, and the premiums just keep going up the older I get. It does make the car insurance seem extra cheap in comparison.

Time to wind down now before making dinner.

Playing some Animal Crossing for that cosy feeling and put a movie on.

Going to make more chicken sandwiches tonight.

Wind picks up and theres 3 drops of rain and immediately the staffy is pawing at my window with an expression of "I cant POSSIBLY survive in these conditions!". She is an outside dog ffs. But the blame should be assigned to me cause I folded and let them in again.
