I looked through a snake identification site and came up with this.

Thank you! Incredibly, I went to see it an hour later, and it’s still alive and seemed more alert. Not sure for how long, but hope he’s able to recover.

Looks like a ring neck snake. Diadophis punctatus.

Did he survive? Better question how did he come out of a mower as anything other than a red smear. Also me in australia realising that u guy get to pick up your snakes and not fear death must be nice.
